The Weekend Edition~Pass the Bean Dip

The infamous Pass the Bean Dip.

I know when you are new to homeschooling, or just thinking about it. You are so excited you want every one else to, learn the new things you have learned and be just as excited as you are. However, the great majority of people, will not be. These boundaries and also learning who to talk to about such... are really key to not getting in arguments, or starting negative feelings about something you are so excited about.

This can be about homeschooling, extended breast feeding, co-sleeping, what ever your family parental choices are, that buck main stream. This has been key in my family.

1) I only discuss these things with people who are like minded, or who are genuinely interested. Other wise, I keep them to myself. They are no one else's business. And no one else is going to change my mind on them. So it's kind of fruitless to bring it up with people who are not truly interested, or like minded.

2) If others find out in another way, and find it their duty to try to inform me of the dangers of my parental choices, then Pass the Bean dip... is all they will get from me. I do NOT argue my parental choices. It's no one else's choice, right etc. No one else except my husband has a say in what we do as parents. So again, kind of just useless dead end argument that will not end in any thing good.

3) If all else fails, don't forget 1 Thes. 4:11.- Make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we instructed you.

Now to the infamous original post entitled Pass the Bean Dip. This was written years ago by a woman who is not a Jehovah's Witness. But, I find it very useful in politely yet firmly setting boundaries.
